There is so much beauty in Western Washington that it can overwhelm the mind. Sometimes, though, I miss interacting with the intriguing fireflies I grew up with on the East Coast. Thinking of their tiny glow brings me back to sticky summer nights, my grandmother (Babcia) serving lemonade on a New York Brownstone porch and the cacophony of laughter of family and friends.
